Hey for anyone who finds themselves here checking up on us. We are alive! That is good. We have been busy for the summer of work, hopefully it will continue through the rest of the year. Well let's see what else, we celebrated a birthday in Vegas, had a short film accepted to SIFF and LA shorts. We have 2 dogs and I never blog. For more current updates find me on facebook.

So we are back. I had significant issues with my mac so I was unable to post pictures from our trip. Soon enough you will be able to see some of our trip from the eyes of our camera.

Japan was great. We had a new experience with how to travel from the airport to an apartment with 6 luggage items while taking 3 different trains.

The latest from Korea:

So over the last few days, we have done nothing really exciting. Rachel got really really sick. So she spent one day in bed vomiting. Which gave me time to fix my Mac, but as I write this on my windows partition, it did not go very well. The next day with Rachel still not feeling well we went to see the doctor. Rachel got her tongue poked with a few needles and I got my back stabbed with a few needles. After that wonderful experience we went to see where my in laws are planning to buy some land a build a house. It is on the western island of Kangwa. The land over looks a small lake that was completely frozen over. It is really beautiful and it will be a great place for their retirement. We stopped off at the a small fish stand and got some fresh sashimi and octopus, yum.

Yesterday we went to the Chinese doctor again for more treatment. And then headed to this huge mall in downtown Seoul, now the only reason I wanted to go and sort of the only reason we went was because they had an apple store of sorts. After we experienced some very poor customer service we went to the service center, which was no help either. Looks like I am stuck with out my OS X until I get home. (i hate windows). One positive thing that happened was we went to a Samsung display store. They had their new products on display. A mp3 touch that looked a lot cooler than the itouch, and way thinner. Laptops and surround systems, but the one thing I wanted was this really small camcorder. It was super sweet. So we will see if I go a hunting for something similar.

Well now we are getting ready in Korean Traditional garb to head to some festival stuff downtown.

I should have some updates about that soon.

Hello from Korea!

We just got back from shopping, getting all the food goodies for the holiday treats around here. The grocerie store was crazy busy and we went in the middle of a work day. Anyways, our travels were almost pleasant. We planned the airport just right. Having enough time to check that the internet was not free and to buy some great Washington wine. Our seats on the plane were great. The second row past Business class. So we got our drinks first and our food first. It was pleasant until we arrived in Japan. Our one layover. We had known about this stop all along, but knew we were not changing planes. So we thought that it was safe to buy our wine. Unfortunately the Japanese airport has this funny rule where when transferring you must go thought additional security check points which even thought we brought the wine on the plane we could not take the wine back on the same plane. AURGH! Frustration increased.

After we arrived in Korea our plane had to wait for about 40 minutes until it was finally allowed to dock at the gate. The craziness continued at the baggage claim when I was almost docked down twice from other people getting bags too heavy for them to lift off the carousel.

Well we got here and that is what really matters. The best part and redeeming part of traveling NWA was the Airbus had AC outlets on our seats so I was able to play on my computer for most of the flight.

I think we are going out again later for more shopping how fun!

We are heading out in the morning for Korea and Japan! It has been 3 years since we were there last. It is the first time I will be there for the Lunar New Years Celebration. Which I have heard is pretty much the biggest thing ever.

But the highlight I am looking forward to is spending some time in Japan. The goal is to hit some slopes and shred some snow on the Japanese slopes. (fingers crossed, that is all works out)

Hello all who partake of this not so current publication. Let see what has happened... I have a full time job at Silver Fox Production. Rachel is working as a contracting (soon to work a few months at my office.) Our Saturn is on the fritz so I am driving it until it goes the way of all things. I am doing tech at a local Theatre here in Seattle. We are staying busy through out the summer with a few trips planned both professional and personal.

Well, my birthday has come and gone and I have a great new set of loot to enjoy. First off, I was able to replace our camera that went the way of all thieves a few months ago. This due to cunning saving of all my Chirstmas money and some well new Bday money. Second a tool, not in the traditional sense of the word (sorry Dad) Nope a computer tool think a mouse on Steriods. It has 15 programable buttons, that can also be programed to specific applications a the flip of a switch. Goodie. Enjoy a few of my birthday pics for the finally.

Well into the new year

We are into the 07 season and it is getting off to a booming start. My brother and sister-in-law moved last weekend, followed by my sister who is moving over the coarse of the next 3 weeks. (so much for weekends off) Work is on the horizon, I am just not sure what yet. So keep the faith up. Today we celebrated Rachel becoming a Naturalized Citizen of the America, to which we popped a cork over. All is going well, especially since the Sea Hawks are on their way to Chicago, (sorry Mark and Debbie, but I hope they de-claw the bears) Go hawks!

Well another 364 days until the next loot day, Ken said as we opened our last gifts. It was sad to see so much of the living room consumed by the rapped gifts and then to see the aftermath of the unwrapped shreds and tissue paper laying all over. I must confess my weakness to gifts of any kind. I just wish as a society we could slow down a little more and enjoy ourselves. We did at Ken and Brenda's house. Thank you to all the family that contributed to the merriness of our day. Thoughts of you filled our minds and hearts as we tore into the wonderfully wrapped gifts that where sent. One day we will all celebrate together, until then warm hugs around.

TEMP,

Yeah that is right I am a temp. I am sitting in an office cubical on the 11th story of the 4th and Blanchard building in downtown Seattle. Yesterday I backed up an old server and today I am burn the back up files onto DVD. Starring into space and surfing the web mostly as I watch the progress bar move ever so slightly on the DVD. Oh how Fun. Aside from this last night Rachel and I went out last night with a friend of mine. We went around Seattle and had some fun. We ate at Belltown Pizza and Cocktails (yum) and then walked around Pikes and Westlake Center. It was great except for the cold WIND it was cold. Really, really cold. Well back to my progress bar.

Well, this one was difficult I was torn. Growing up watching Bret play (while I played) and supporting our local guys. I was easy to chear when something went good for either team, but hard to see Favre try to carrie the Pack once again. I hope they spend the money and give him a good ending season next year. Way to go Hass, for returning to the game and picking up where we left off. Now maybe we can win some games.

The Seattle Times Home Pagein

In the city with Giants such as Microsoft, Boeing and Starbucks we find ourselves at the mercy of the a little precipitation. With the November holiday weekend coming to a close the weather decided we needed more time off work. (oh bless you dear weather God) The roads began to get slick as the mercury dropped. The snow fell fast and furious for about 5 hours straight our highways, byways and all the ways in-between got hammered. No major route was accident free, and with our IQ, several cars went abandoned on the sides of the road (the drivers probably searching for an open Starbucks) only compounded the problem. What a nice day today though, clear and cold. With the road frozen over enough to play early morning ice hockey on, only the stupid ventured out. On a midday walk about our neighborhood we were privilege to witness such stupidity as an elderly lady tried to make it down an icy 6 grade short slope. Only to be serenaded with the sounds of honking and crunching as we could not see the catastrophe. Well the roads are mostly clear now, but with the forecast of rain and freezing temperatures again tomorrow I hope we get our sand/salt trucks out of the barns and onto the roads.

Holidays and news

Tis the holiday season, all is well and we are working away. Me at Costco where I stock food at 1am and Rachel at Victory Studios where she makes DVD’s and encodes videos. We are excited for the holidays and hope to see lots of the fam. We are very busy but get to squeeze time for a little breakfast with the siblings every now and again. The plans unfold for a great adventurous surprise, (I will tell you more later) and we are in the midst of a great snow season on the mountains. Yes, we are planning trips up to local and not so local mountains this year. Yeah, free roof rack. Have a safe and not so sober Thanksgiving.

It did not start out normal. I went in for an interview at Costco and walked out with a follow up interview everything like a formality and the hiring was finished. We then proceeded to Ken and Bj's for a dilish chicken soup with flaky dumplings ala Ken. What a fun night of chatting and winning family history fact conversations (what). We played Formula De, which Ken came from behind to win. All good time, but we cut the night short because 3 out of the 4 of us had to work. Yeah that’s right I had to work! Hurray! I helped with some painting and remodeling both Saturday and Sunday. Rachel stayed home and made some of Carrie's wonderful beer bread (oh yeah!) That was so much fun, I often forget how easy and fun painting can be. I was a little out of practice but still managed to impress the people I was working for, which is good. I got called back to do some more on Tuesday. After work on Sunday, Rachel and I ate some incredible Korean food, and watched a movie "Girl with a Pearl Earing" (look here for the review) and then went to bed. Ending a great great weekend.

The end of the week is closing in and I am still jobless. I am however going on 2 interviews one today and one tomorrow. (keep your fingers crossed) I also have lined up some work for the weekend thanks to Rach. The girl in charge of the remodel at Victory needs some help so a couple of 8 hours days should feel pretty good. I think we are heading to do a gallery walk tonight and then to the older one's for dinner on Friday.

Well it is the 2nd day of the 2nd week since I quit working for Abundant, and the rain is nice. I have been diligently pounding the pavement in search for a job that will help pay the bills. I am continuing my work with Robo studios (FREE-lance) but nothing else has really shown up. Keep in mind that the holidays are coming so lots of people are looking for employs. We are off to the Great White North this weekend to do some filming at a friends wedding it should be some fun. I am really excited to get away for a WHOLE weekend. Well that is the gist of it, off to do more house work (if Rachel made enough I would so stay home and be the homemaker, its fun, for now)
